The rope team
The ROPE team is made up of over 50 staff, from support workers through to Administration staff and the Management team.
We pride ourselves on the professionalism and dedication of our team, with some team members having been at ROPE for 10+ years. They are participant focussed, highly skilled and passionate, always providing the highest level of engagement and support.

Tim Edwards
President
Tim is a solicitor at Hopgood Ganim Lawyers in Brisbane. In his role he advises on all types of litigation & dispute resolution matters related to commercial contracts, directors’ duties disputes, restructuring, insolvency & mining resources and native title disputes. Tim has served on the management committees of several not-for-profit organizations operating in the disability sector. Through these roles he gained experience in the internal governance & management of those organizations as well as the sale or merger of their business. Tim holds qualifications in Law (Honors) & Business (Management) from the Queensland University of Technology.
James Lord
Vice President
James is a barrister practicing in in all areas of commercial law. Prior to being called to the bar, James was a Senior Associate at a large firm in Brisbane, where he practiced in commercial litigation since his admission in 2019.
James graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and Bachelor of Arts. He has experience acting in complex litigation and disputes for a broad range of clients, including ASX listed companies and government bodies.
In addition to serving as the Vice President of ROPE, James has been involved in a number of other charities and NFPs, including as independent director of the Australian Medical Students’ Association, where he served as Chair of Audit and Risk.
David Shoobridge
Treasurer
Recently retired, David worked in Northern Territory hospital administration for many years followed by some time as a tour operator in the Top End.
In more recent years he has worked with local government throughout the NT, including appointment as CEO of the Barkly Regional Council based in Central Australia. David holds qualifications in health management from University of NSW.
Tom Mirolo-Lynam
Secretary
Tom is a solicitor in the Disputes team at HopgoodGanim Lawyers, with experience assisting clients across a broad range of restructuring, turnaround and insolvency matters as well as general commercial litigation. He also regularly provides pro bono advice to a range of not-for-profit and charitable organisations to assist them with their legal affairs.
Having grown up in the Moreton Bay region, Tom is passionate about ROPE and the positive impact it has on the local community.
Alice Wallace
Committee Member
Alice describes herself as being the mum of a miracle. Alice came to the Management Committee after her child started with ROPE three years ago. Alice has vast experience with committees, clubs & associations, having held a variety of positions for many organisations in the Moreton Bay Region. Some of these positions include President of Deception Bay High School; founding committee member of ausDoCC and past Young Peoples Leader, Salvation Army Redcliffe. Alice is currently studying her Certificate IV in Accounting.
Tom Wilson
Chair of Marketing / Committee Member
As the owner of BMR – Better Marketing Results, Tom is passionate about solving the ‘Marketing’ problem in businesses, and believes trust is the most important part of that. Tom is known for simplifying the marketing jargon and helping his clients know what function Marketing can really perform for their business. Tom brings this wealth of Marketing knowledge to the table as a valued board member.
Tom also gains great satisfaction from public speaking, and can be found every Monday and Wednesday at a regular networking event with 100+ people.
Steve Moore
Committee Member
Now semi-retired, Steve worked in the not-for-profit, retail and Local Government sectors for 20 years in the Northern Territory. This included a Ministerial appointment as CEO of Outback Stores Pty, Ltd (a Commonwealth Company), he also held the position CEO of Barkly Region Council after successfully completing his contracts at Outback Stores.
With vast experience at driving organisational cultural change with a focus on commercial viability, Steve has a track record building business success. He also served on several boards including the RSPCA (Darwin), the Barkly Regional Economic Development committee and time as Deputy Chair of the Battery Hill Mining Centre Inc.
A Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors Steve is well versed in Corporate Governance, he also holds a Business Qualification from Dekin University.
